HELLO!
Allow us to introduce you to our esteemed President, Mike Smith, also known as Smitty. From a young age, Smitty was immersed in the world of outdoor sports, particularly hunting and fishing. During those formative years, he witnessed a sense of mutual respect and a welcoming atmosphere within the community. Guided by his elders, Smitty learned the importance of wearing proper safety attire, mastering the use and maintenance of firearms and fishing equipment, and developed a profound appreciation for these pursuits.
For young Smitty, holidays meant not only opening gifts but also embarking on thrilling small-game hunting adventures. The resonating sounds of hunting dogs echoing through fields, the invigorating scent of fresh morning air, and the anticipation of stories yet to be told all added to the excitement. His first major hunting expedition took him to Manitoba, Canada, where he pursued black bears. This hunting journey continued across the Midwest, with elk hunting in Colorado, antelope hunting in Wyoming, boar and javelina hunting in Texas, turkey hunting in Oklahoma, and small game hunting throughout Maryland.
However, after accumulating over five decades of experience, Smitty noticed a concerning decline in the passion for hunting and fishing, particularly among minority communities. This realization sparked the inception of Catch More Mentor Academy (CMMA). Smitty recognized that CMMA was a vital tool to connect with a diverse community and reignite their interest in these sports. Hunting and fishing, though demanding endeavors, foster camaraderie, respect, teamwork, lasting friendships, and cherished memories. Smitty's ultimate goal is to inspire and empower a new generation of skilled fishermen and hunters.
